Pedro Bernardo is located in the fertile Tietar
River Valley. Facing North (Midday), standing
on a beautiful landscape of the valley and the
Toledo Mountains , Pedro Bernardo is known as
the viewpoint or the Balcony of the Tietar River
Valley.
The village and its surrounding area is over
70 km2 , having a boundary with Toledo province.
Its heights range from the 400m to 2,100 m in
the Risco de Miravalles Mountain range, in the
summits of the Central Mountain Range of the Gredos
Mountains.

It has a mild climate in winter and it´s
warm in the summer, with average temperatures
from 14º to 20
degrees, with frequent rain that allows for a
varied vegetation with numerous species. From
subtropical plants to lichen,yew tree, savine,
cantueso, rosemary, sage, heather, rockrose, strawberry
tree, orange tree, pomegranate, wild fig, azufaifo,
olive tree, fig, vine and other fruit trees.
Among the fauna, on the top of the mountains there
are remarkable species such as eagles (Aguila
Real , is an authoctonous species) vultures (also
called buitres leonados) and the mountain goat
(cabra montés). It´s also easy to
spot storks , rabilargos, oropéndolas abejarucos
and other authoctonous bird species. Among the
most common species it is necessary to mention
the fox, wild rabbit, hare and wild boar, and
among the water fauna we have to mention the trout,
the ´boga` and the barbel.
